The Continued Pattern of Failure! Broken Promises remain in Research and Service Delivery

Ongoing studies and meta-analyses of such studies on the postsecondary patterns of the graduates of America’s high school special education programs have continued for more than twenty years. Over the past three years, this disability policy specialist, along with Dr. Frank Rusch of Pennsylvania State University, has suggested that the postsecondary outcomes for these young adults with disabilities may not be accurately reported. This failure to accurately report the quality of life among these young people, it is suggested with this essay, is especially true in New Jersey. Data is suspect, in part because those who have reported outcomes have a vested interest in the success of the programs that are responsible for preparing students with disabilities for adult living.
