On this day in 1804 the famous duel involving one of our the greatest Founding Fathers, Alexander Hamilton, took place in Weehawkin. While Hamilton was an example of a principled statesman and leader, his opponent, Aaron Burr, practiced the self interested politics seeking personal gain and power above all else that is common with many Democrats (and some Republicans) today. Considering the date in history I thought it an opportunity to re-post my book review of Alexander Hamilton, American. The review follows:
